Sunflower Corporation was established in 1973, as a manufacturer of interior decorative panels, High Pressure Laminates (HPL), Melamine Faced Chipboard (MFC), Postforming HPL and Compact Laminates. Sunflower became the first ISO9001 accredited producer in the region and was further awarded the “Green Label” certification by the Taiwanese and Singaporean Governments.
Further technical advancements had taken place with the introduction of anti bacterial, anti fungal and fire retardant laminates. More recently new technologies were introduced that provide a far superior scratch resistant gloss and anti finger print ultra matt finishes in both high pressure and compact laminates.

Antibacterial and Antifungal Technology
Sunflower provides the latest antibacterial and antifungal surface technology in its high pressure laminates (HPL) and Melamine Faced Chipboard (MFC). We do this during the manufacturing process by infusing the antibacterial and antifungal treatment while treating the papers. It effectively inhibits the growth of stain and odor causing bacteria and fungus, while maintaining the original physical and structural properties of the products. The effect is sustained throughout the life of the product and is unaffected from cleaning and frequent use. Sunflower incorporates this treatment in all its standard MFC and HPL products, in all colors and surface finishes (excluding Metallic HPL) and complies with the JIS Z 2801 standard (antibacterial) and ASTM G21 (antifungal).
Soft Touch – Ultra Matt finish
Sunflower has developed their own “Surface Delivery Technology” to produce an anti fingerprint laminate that is soft to touch and is anti glare. Sunflower is the first to introduce this as post formable which makes it unique. It provides a very soft, tactile and natural look when used on woodgrain and marble designs and in fact on any color within the Sunflower range.
Metallic HPL
Metallic HPL is manufactured using an actual aluminum layer over treated papers. It is an effective way of achieving a metallic look without the associated costs of solid aluminium. As the aluminium foil is treated with a melamine resin it provides a light scratch resistance. Because it is made as HPL it is easy to fabricate and install with normal woodworking tools. Sunflower provides a wide range of colors to choose from that includes rose gold, bronze, grey, gold and brushed aluminium.

Uni – Core provides a homogeneous solid color, having the same color on the decorative surfaces as the core. This provides a look of perfect uniformity and is visually seamless without the black lines of normal HPL. It can provide unique design possibilities for your project and is ideal for countertops, reception areas, desks and anywhere that requires that creative elements.
